Scrabble Word Finder

Enter up to fifteen letters. A normal Scrabble rack is seven tiles, but the extra room lets you add the board letter you intend to play through — put your seven tiles plus that letter in the box and every word that uses the hook appears.

Case does not matter and duplicates count: entering RETINAS finds words that use one of each letter, while entering LETTERS lets words use two Ts and two Es.

Each ? stands for any single letter. Two blanks are allowed but slow the search slightly, because the solver tries every substitution. The blank itself always scores zero, which is why the results list can show a lower score than you expect for a long word.

When the board dictates the shape of the play, a pattern search beats a rack search. Use ? for a single unknown letter and * for any run of letters: C?T matches CAT, COT and CUT, while *TION finds every word ending in those four letters.

Patterns are the right tool for hooks, for filling a gap between two existing words, and for crossword clues where you know the length and one or two letters.

Filter by exact word length when a slot on the board is fixed. Use starts with to find words that hook onto a letter already on the board, and ends with when the fixed letter sits at the far end of the slot. Combining a length filter with a contains filter is the fastest way to shrink a 400-word list into a handful of real options.

Every word carries its raw Scrabble tile value with no board multipliers applied. Sort by score to see the heavy plays first, by length to hunt for a seven-tile bingo, or alphabetically when you are studying. Hover or tap any word to read its definition and hear its pronunciation — both come from local dictionary data, so they work offline too.

WordCue searches a bundled open English word list of more than 350,000 entries. It is deliberately broad, so it contains words that a tournament lexicon such as TWL or SOWPODS may not accept. Treat unusual finds as candidates and check them against whichever dictionary your game uses before you challenge or play them.

Scores shown next to each word use the standard Scrabble tile values, with no board multipliers applied. Add your own double and triple letter or word squares on top — the score calculator does that part for you.
