About WordCue

WordCue bundles a dictionary of more than 350,000 English words along with tools built around it: word finders, anagram and pattern solvers, rack optimisers, score calculators, and solvers for Wordle, Quordle and Octordle. It also includes plain-language guides explaining how each game works and how to get better at it.

WordCue is for casual and competitive players alike — someone checking whether a tricky tile rack forms a valid word, someone stuck on today's Wordle, or someone who just wants to learn the rules of a game they've never played before.

WordCue has no accounts and no backend server that processes your searches. The dictionary and the pronunciation and definition data it uses are bundled with the app and cached locally, so lookups happen on your device rather than being sent anywhere.

Your search history and any favourites you save are stored only in your browser's localStorage, and you can clear them at any time from Settings. Nothing about your usage is transmitted to a WordCue-run database, because no such database exists.

WordCue is installable as a progressive web app. A service worker caches the app itself along with the dictionary and word-data shards it needs, so once it's loaded, most of the toolkit continues to work without an internet connection.
