Wordle Solver

Enter each guess you've made along with its clue colors, and the solver filters a dictionary of valid 5-letter words down to only those that satisfy every constraint. This is especially useful after two or three guesses when it's easy to lose track of which letters you've already ruled in or out.

The tool works entirely in your browser, so your guesses aren't sent anywhere — it's just a fast way to double-check your own reasoning or explore the remaining possibilities when you're down to your last guess.

01

Marking grey, yellow, and green correctly

Grey means the letter does not appear in the answer in that guess (with the duplicate-letter exception below). Yellow means the letter is in the answer but in a different position. Green means that exact letter and position are correct. Mark every letter of every guess, not just the ones you think matter — a grey letter is just as informative as a green one.

02

Handling duplicate letters and hard mode

When a guess has a repeated letter, Wordle only marks as many copies yellow or green as actually appear in the answer; extras show grey. Enter the colors exactly as shown in the game rather than assuming both copies behave the same way.

If you're playing hard mode, which requires reusing any revealed green or yellow letters in later guesses, the solver's filtered list already respects those constraints as long as you've entered your previous clues accurately — you don't need to do anything extra.
